Discussion: Best Automation Approach for framework !
Till date I am using reusable actions written in different test for different modules. And call them in single tests (main script) to execute it one by one. I have also gone through tarun’s “Dynamic action call” script thoroughly but as my “AUT” is so complex and being a single Test owner I have decided Not to choose this method of dynamizing my tests calls for alt least this framework.
Now My query is, what you guys feel, creating several actions in one test is better for one AUT’s OR different tests and one main tests like the approach I am using already ?
Re: Discussion: Best Automation Approach for framework !
The approach which you are already following seems to be fine. But try to use more and more Functions instead of Reusable Actions wherever possible. I know it is a bit difficult to use Functions alongwith Data Driven tests but it will make your scripts more robust and manageable. Also note that whichever approach you follow just keep in mind that the framework should be easily maintanable in case of future modifications to the scripts.
