Re: Need to Capture Tool Tip

I need to get the text of tooltip for a control
There is small "hover box" which appears with supplementary information regarding the item being hovered over.

Re: Need to Capture Tool Tip

Use descriptive programming and create the object for which you want the tool tip.

Then find the y and x axises(abs x)and use

obj.MouseMove(x,y)

Re: Need to Capture Tool Tip

I have the script to get the link by Tool Tip. You may get the tooltip

TagName = "A" 'links
TextName = "ToolTip"

Set oAnchors = PageObjTemp.Object.GetElementsByTagName(TagName) 'This will grab all of the links in the page.
blnFound = False
For Each oAnchor in oAnchors
If oAnchor.title = TextName Then
Set ObjReturn = oAnchor
blnFound = True
Exit For
End If
Next 'oAnchor

Re: Need to Capture Tool Tip

hey use following thing..
IT will return you the outerhtml of the object. Which will contain the "INPUT title" which is mostly the tooltip of the object.

Code:

tooltip=Browser("...").Page("...").WebEdit("..").G etROProperty("outerhtml")

Now what u need to do is to somehow extract the tooltip from this string using regular expression or any other string function.

Re: Need to Capture Tool Tip

Try this:

' Place mouse cursor over the link
Browser("browser").Page("page").WebElement("name") .FireEvent "onmouseover"
wait 1
' Grab tooltip
ToolTip = Window("nativeclass:=tooltips_class32").GetROPrope rty("text")
Thanks and Regards,

Re: Need to Capture Tool Tip

Well the problem lies on the fact even on mouse hover no tool tip is displayed with QTP but doing it manually, it appears.
But on view source of web page it is aligned with the control.

<div class="help" title="The associate or workgroup currently responsible for this issue">
<label id="lbl_CURRENT_ASSIGNEE" class="required" defaultOptionality="required">Assignee
</label>
</div>
