QTP 9.2 not recognise browser-window child objects

If anyone has come across the below problem, kindly help me..

The heirarchy is Browser>Window>Page>Link. The 'Window' was identified in QTP 9.1 but not in QTP 9.2. It is identified only as WinObject.

I have tried opening the browser after opening QTP and ve ran 'SettingNewBrowserControlApplication.exe' from 'C:\Program Files\Mercury Interactive\QuickTest Professional\bin' as I saw in some post.

But end result is still cannot identify the Window object.

Re: QTP 9.2 not recognise browser-window child obj

Thanks RajKumar. I have gone thru the same post and perfomed some of the steps described there like running 'SettingNewBrowserControlApplication.exe'. But it didnt work.

My issue is - the browser is getting identified but the child window is not identified. Anything under the window is identified in the heirarchy of Browser("").WinObject(""). The Window object is not recognised somehow.

I am wondering if I need to install XP and QTP 9.2 together but at the sametime, Win XP is already installed as the OS and I am not sure if the company policy allows me to uninsatll the OS.

it would be nice if there is some other soln.

See if it is working on some other system or not. If yes then import the registry settings to this machines also and apply the new settings for the browser
