I have an RTE script which connects to an AIX server within our test lab. The lab is a Windows domain, but we are not using AD integration for authentication. It's logging on with a local account on the server. Here is the exact TE_connect statement copied/pasted from Vugen:
"comm-type = telnet;"
"host-name = 10.28.14.75;"
"telnet-port = 22;"
"terminal-id = ;"
"set-window-size = true;"
"security-type = ssh;"
"ssh-type = ssh2;"
"ssh-show-info = false;"
"ssh-show-login-dialog = false;"
"ssh-cipher = 3DES;"
"ssh-enable-compression = false;"
"ssh-enable-x11 = false;"
"ssh-attempt-tis = false;"
"ssh-allow-agent = false;"
"ssh-keyboard-interactive = false;"
"ssh-key-file = ;"
"ssh-username = ;"
"terminal-type = sco-ansi;"
"terminal-model = vt100;"
"login-command-file = ;"
"terminal-setup-file = ;"
The script works well when I run it from within Vugen. It's connects perfectly, then logs in and runs its course. However, when run within a test in Performance Center it fails with this error every time:
Action1.c(9): Error: TE_connect failed after 1 tries. Retrying.
Reason: Unable to connect to host.
The error message is: Connection closed by host
After a few connection errors the test eventually aborts in failure.
The Load Generator that I ran my script on was a Win 2008R2 server, so we moved the test to a Windows 7 workstation (the same OS on my Vugen box where the script was authored), but it also failed when ran in Performance Center.
I attempted manually running my script from within Vugen on the Load Generators where the tests failed, and my tests were successful.
I also tried running the script on our controller, and it also worked.
I have tried a suggestion that we found online of changing my Runtime->Miscellaneous->Multithreading from "Run vuser as a process" to "Run vuser as a thread", but that did not help.
Some notes regarding our test environment:
* Vugen version is 12.01;
* Performance Center version is 12.01;
* There are no firewalls separating any of the servers or workstations in question;
* Each of our servers are running Windows 2008 R2;
* My Vugen workstation is running WIndows 7 64bit;
The RTE scripts that I have worked in testing back in 2014 when our LoadRunner environment was running version 11.52. This is our first attempt at testing the RTE protocol in our upgraded 12.01 environment.
Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.
