Earliest answer: I've never heard of this term, nor has google.
But it leads me to some very creative speculations: Why do you marinate meat? It's still the same piece of meat, but it tastes better.
How would you marinate a script in a way that it's still the same script but now looks and feels much better? E.g. by inserting comments, by adding exception handling and some better synchronisation points, ...
I'd like to get copyright for this definition, if no one else feels as father/mother of "script marinating" ... ;-)
