object recognition mechansim and usable controls.
when i explore the object recognition mechanism and extend the usable controls in winRunner, three questions come to my mind:
1 which conditions should the control satisfy in order to be identified by WinRunner, since in a certain application, some controls can be identifiable, while in some other application, the same kind of controls can not.
2 what's the object recognition mechanism in WinRunner?
among the identifiable controls in WinRunner, how the controls' response function relate to the control, how the control capture the message, and activate the response function,is it similar to window controls handling mechanism, does it need a hook to hack the windows message, or such?
3 in the script under the directory \\lib\\wr_gen, i can see the identifiable controls (toolbar, button, edit, icon, list, menu, scroll, table,o bject, window, general)'s function definitions, but i donot know how it is implemented, since they are just classes with definitions, but without implementations.with the help of a DLL view tool, i check the wholly DLLs under the \\arch directory,(i hope i have not missed one), i have not found the corresponding function name. so i was wondering how the functions are implemented, is it transferred to the window message handling mechanism?
thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the WinRunner customization guide located at <WinRunnerHome>/doc/custom.pdf ?
