Below are the properties of AUT.
label: "Consolidated Confirmation",
Child window (Inside parent window)
MSW_class: Internet Explorer_Server,
WR recognizes inside frame as window and not frame.
Now the problem is that WR is not able to recognize all the objects from the childwindow (buttons and links). It is recognizing whole frame as window even if u try to spy on a particular object (button).
My testing environment is as follows.
1. OS: Win XP-SP-2
2. Addins- WebTest,VB,PB and ActiveX
3. WR Version: 8.0 and 8.2 (on diff m/c).
Please don't use all caps in the summary title. It is considred "yelling" and very inconsiderate.
As for your problem - have you asked your developer how those items are created in the html code? Are they standard controls and not some thrid party? Can you take a look at the HTML page on its own outside of the VB app to see if they are detected there OK?
What does your GUI Spy tell you about the window and what controls it does see? And with the Spy, have you made sure to click the object option button instead of the window when you were performing your spy. The results you post sound like you haven't asked the tool to look at the correct type of objects.
Also, you may want to read up on the documentation of the addins you have (I no longer have access to WinRunner so I can't perform this task to compare), and ensure the combination you are loading won't cause issues with any of the add ins.
Is you app in VB or PB? Usually those aren't loaded together for the most part.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
