Thank you very much for your reply Tony.Keep it up.I have one more query.
I have to click on a link using 'win_click_on_text'.When my String/Text appears in the set window there wont be any problem.If it is down somewhere on the same page and cannot see until we scroll down then i am using type("kPgDn_E"). i am keeping it in a fixed loop of 10 iterations assuming i will find it within 10 page down key presses.But in worst case scenario it may cross 10PageDowns.Can you suggest me any idea that makes this logic generic?
My requirement is to click on a link which is a numeric value.Its value keep on changing and location will also be changing.my code is successfully clicked on that link but its not generic.
if (RetValue == E_STR_NOT_FOUND)
#log error information and recover
}#continue with the your script
Here i have kept the MAXCOUNT value as 20 assuming ClickLink string will be found within 20 Pagedowns.But its not generic
if it crosses 20, i mean if it requires 25 PAgeDowns then this script will fail.
so if there is any other way that i can know the maximum number of PAgeDowns i can do on a particular page then my code will
be generic as requested by my TL.
without having first hand knowledge of your application (read that as seeing it), it is difficult to direct what could be done.
All I can say is you need to look at your application, see if there is something on the screen you can trigger off of that is noting you are at the end of the screen. Once you determine that information, then work it into your function/script to use this information.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
Thats a great a idea Tony.I will try to take something that is at end of the page for every page of my application.Mostly it wud be time stamp .Thank you very much.
If you dont mind can you look into one post that i have posted in Quality Center Posts.
Is it (TDConnection.TestPlan) we have to work with to download testcases. Can you gimme a simple code that i have to use to download test cases from QC using QTP.Assumne path to test cases in TestPlan is 'Subject\2007Releases\CustomerRequest'.
