GUI Map -Logical name becomes shorter in long name
When I trys to learn with GUI MAP a JAVA frame and in it there is a Long parameter name the Logical Name becoms shorter and the winrunner adds "..." three dots instead of the wanted text.
The label stays as should be only the logical changes.
How can I fix it.?
Re: GUI Map -Logical name becomes shorter in long name
WinRunner learns what it can, and then you have to choose what you want it to be represented as.
Once you learn the object, you can change the logical name to any value you want for better clarificaion. There is a length limit on the field in the GUI map for extra long logical descriptions.
Changing the logical description to something more identifiable for you means you can then only worry about updating the physical description if the object changes and not the logical names in your script. The logical name update will only have to be done once to ensure they are unique
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Its a lot of names for each frame there is about 40 names and there are about 30 frames.
Cant it configurable?

You can write a script to capture add all objects in a frame to the GUI map using whatever properties and names you like. I do this for web applications to quickly create GUI maps that conform to my group's naming conventions.
