It seems pretty straight forward but it's not working. AND the thing that is driving me nuts is that it use to work. I know the ODBC connection is correct, because the connection test completes successfully.
I'm hoping that all I really need is a second set of eyes to point out the obvious mistake I've made that I can't see. (This is the bad thing about working in a place where you're the only one who knows anything about WinRunner -- no one to 'talk' to. )
your connection handle HAS to contain something in it - it can't be blank. It needs it to know what connection to talk to since you can set up more than one connection to a database, or have multiple connections to differnt dbs.
try this and see what you get:
<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
DSN = "asmDB"; #not a real
DBUID = "asm"; #not a real user
PWD = "asm-pass"; #not a real password
connectionHandle = "query1";
db_string = "DSN="&DSN& ";
pause ("db_string= >" &db_string &"<");
rc = db_connect(connectionHandle, db_string);
pause ("rc = >" & rc &"<");
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
