Anyone using WR 9.2 yet? ...

Just installing it now. Anything notable to be aware of or watch out for?

I see that the TSL interpreter is supposed to be new. I wonder how some undocumented or poorly documented TSL code will fare? I'm a little surprised that they would go to so much trouble this late in the product's life cycle.

Thanks!

Re: Anyone using WR 9.2 yet? ...

punkhunter's thread is the only one so far that I have read actually using it here. I am downloading it now and will have our test system prepped tomorrow for initial testing prior to rollout to the other systems.

it was a surprize to see the update list of features, and I just hope it doesn't cause too much havoc. I have read over on the official support board that a few have had issues with syntax rule enforcement with the new editor - but with our coding standards here I am not expecting a problem with that

No problem - I am looking forward to hearing what everyone is seeing with the new version. Looking foward even more to getting my hands on it. <insert complaint about slow internet connection at work here>

I think so - I have to test it before I comfortably am able to answer that.

I am having a killer of a time with the new array/scaler distinctions.

Re: Anyone using WR 9.2 yet? ...

looks like the only hiccup so far deals with declaring arrays in compiled modules and how they are handled now.

It seems in 8.2 and prior, when you needed to have an array passed or returned to a function, you had to declare it as:
<font color="blue">auto</font> myarr[];

and then you could call the function with the array passed as a scaler representation:
<font color="blue">ddt_get_parameters</font>(table,myarr,numrows);

but it seems now that even if the function returns an array, you have to declare it in the compiled module as a scaler if it is passed as a scaler (which all arrays are).

so you now have to declare arrays as if they were a regular scaler variable and are forced to know when to handle the variable as an array.
<font color="blue">auto</font> myarr;

Re: Anyone using WR 9.2 yet? ...

Just to follow up

The above has been the only change I have had to make. It was also the only function where I use a WinRunner command that passes in a variable to be returned as an array within a user defined funciton. All our own built functions handled the array with out issue.

Much better performance with the WinRunner IDE, and the new conditional break point is a real nice addition to the features. Although I am a bit dissapointed they could make those changes and not even think about making the GUI Map editor dockable
