Anyone out there have issues running WinRUnner on a dual core processor machines? My company is just finding it difficult running tests on such machines. A script will run 7x as long.
Mercury has not been helpful so I find it hard to imagine I would be alone here.
We purchased Dell Precision DUAL core Xeon processor machines.
WinRunner won't support a dual processor system.
You will have to disable one of the processers for it to work as expected.
I am not sure what the plan is for dual processers with the next release late this quarter/early next.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
sorry, but this really ****es me off that mercury does not offer support for dual core systems. Midrange pc's are all dual core... eventually, winrunner will be dinosaur and you either migrate to their QTP or another tool.
Anyone know if QTP has similar issues?
BY the way, I downloaded their new version v9.2 and it has a new TSL interperter so watch out as existing tests fail due to syntax issues, so its not simple upgrade.
Additionally, it crawls on Win2000 dual processor machines so I do not think they fixed this problem in this release. I will try tomorrow on a XP Sp2 dual core.
