Winrunner with table object on web page.

Hi All,

I am getting an error message while reading a value from a cell in a table on a web page. It displays the hand symbol to identify again the object.

When a data is not present in a particular cell under a table on web page, it gives an error “Winrunner can not find the object … table_name”.

This is the code I am using –

set_window("Window_Name");
tbl_get_rows_count("table_name",iRow);
for(i=1;i<=iRow;i++)
{
set_window("Window_Name");
rc=tbl_get_cell_data("table_name","#"&i,"#7",s Val);
if(rc==E_OK)
{
pause(sVal);
}
}

Is there any method or way which will first identify whether the execution is successful or while reading a value it should not give any error message?

Note: I am using winrunner 8.0. Web Add-Ins is selected. OS is Win2K.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Winrunner with table object on web page.

Hi malice,

The physical description of the table object is like -

"{ class: object, MSW_class: html_table, location: 3}".

I read the "availability" chapter. I tried the function

"web_tbl_get_cell_data ( table, row, column, starting_pos, out_text, out_actual_text_length );" also which is specific to web page only but getting the same problem.

Appreciate if you can suggess any other way to handle the error displayed.

Re: Winrunner with table object on web page.

Chinmay,

is your problem related to <web_>tbl_get_cell_data function or may be it arise on the line
tbl_get_rows_count("table_name",iRow);?

if it get_cell_data who doesn't work you could try tbl_activate_row ( table, row ); before getting cell value
i hope it will help...

Re: Winrunner with table object on web page.

No, still it does not solve my problem.

It is displaying error only with the tbl_get_cell_data function.

If the function tbl_activate_row ( table, row ); is used again it says about the function not relavant at this point which is correct as you told these are related to some specific add-ins.

So no other ways...

Re: Winrunner with table object on web page.

web_obj_get_text ( object, table_row, table_column, out_text)

Unlike tbl_get_cell_data, web_obj_get_text doesn't throw a context sensitive error if table_row or table_column is invalid.
