    Coordinates for button click

    Hi,

I am using WinRunner 7.6 while recording a script on button click i saw x and y coordinates.

Is it compulsory required to give the coordinates for the button clicks

    please clear me.

    Thanks
    Adi

    Re: Coordinates for button click

    hi adi

as per i know yes it is required to give x and y coordinates...it will guide mouse cursor to move to exact location...but you havn't mentioned in which resolution you are recording and in which you will run again...it will differ if you record in 800X600 resolution and play in higher...so better use higher then that and it will work for all....

    hope this will help

    Nonsense.

Meanwhile, Adi, you don't need coordinates to click on a button if WinRunner can identify the object, say, by name.

You don't tell us what type of app, which addins, nor what function you are using to click the button.

And this is why training is useful. Understanding the GUI map, primary, secondary and tertiary attributes for object identification is a pretty fundamental item for WinRunner

[/ QUOTE ]Last time I checked LoadRunner didn't have a gui map. Isn't this the WinRunner forum?
