I am new to the testing industry and i had a question on Winrunner. If you do not have MS excel installed in your system, how can you insert DB checkpoints in the Test script? Kindly explain the process.
I know that i need to enable the new query funtion in MS Excel, but is it mandatory to use Excel? What are the other options?
DB (database) chechpoints don't specifically require datatables, you would only use a datatable when you are populating a xls sheet for a data driven test from a database.
WR has a limited version of a spreadsheet editor within the IDE, so you can create your sheets from wintun the WR tool. There are the other options of OpenOffice, or any other spreadsheet application that will allow the saving of files in Excel 5.0 format.
