I am currently learning winrunner tool. When I try to run winrunner with web application,
the particular object(ie button, textbox or checkbox on the web application) is not selected. Instead entire html pages is selected as a frame. Could you tell me how to select a particular object(ie buttons, textbox and checkbox instead of entire page).
Thanks for your reply.
I went through the tutorials in that ships with winrunner.
I was able to work out with those. My problem to be more specific is that I can't work with the web applications, as I could not select individual objects inside the browser screen(When I try to do, entire screen itslef is taken as a frame.).
I just want to know do I have to change any setup for running winrunner for web application.
During start up I have selected win test when I am tring to run web applications
I have one more quick question. My winrunner version is 7. My Operating system is windows XP and my IE version is 6.0. Is there any thing to do with it. And also as to my previous post could you also tell me where the file (readme.wri ) is located?
If you are using WinRunner 7, you are going to need a patch from the Mercury Site to enable you to interface with IE 6.0, but with the XP OS, you are going to need version 8.0 of WR if you have installed SP2.
The question now is why are you using a version that is so old? Is it because you no longer have a contract with Mercury? Or that you have obtained this version from someone so you can learn WinRunner to break into the Automated testing field?
Either way you are stuck as if you don't have a contract with Mercury, you can't obtain the patches/upgrade you need. If it is an illegal copy then your chances of even help from this site have just ended.
