GUI map file to xml conversion

    Hi,

Is conversion of GUI map to xml format possible? I searched the forum and found that xml to GUI map conversion is possible. Is the former possible? If so, can you throw some light at it?

Re: GUI map file to xml conversion

A script containing some GUI_...-commands and some file_...-operations will do the trick.
If there is an easier solution - I don't know.

Re: GUI map file to xml conversion

    HI Bru,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, i didnt follow the same. Could you please make it more clear? I was thinking of some parser to be written for converting GUI map to xml. Has anyone attempted this?

Re: GUI map file to xml conversion

To make it (a little bit) more clear:
The GUI_...-commands can be used for reading objects stored in the GUI-Map (logical names and physical description of the GUI objects). You can read all objects from a specific GUI-Map with these functions.

The file_...-operations can be used for writing the XML-file. Just define the XML-structure you want and write the data (read by the GUI_...-functions) into the file using file_printf.

But as the syntax of a .GUI-file is quite simple, any other programming language can also be used for writing a parser (and I guess this will run faster than in WR).

    Regards,
    Juergen
