I have a variable that stores current time (get_time()). How can I extract minutes and seconds from it and then subtract one time from another time to find the time elapsed between them in minutes?
OK, with this and your other question, I think you need to get some training.
get_time() contains the number of seconds elasped from a given point in time. (January 1, 1970 if I remeber correctly).
Knowing this you just store it at the beginning, compare it to the value returned at the end and you have your difference in seconds.
You will have to do the math to figure out minutes, etc.
60 seconds to a minute,
3600 seconds to the hour
86400 seconds to the day
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
To convert seconds to minutes and seconds:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">elapsed_seconds = 130;
min = int(elapsed_seconds / 60);
sec = elapsed_seconds % 60;
print(min & " minutes , " & sec & " seconds"</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Output:
2 minutes , 10 seconds
