Test Automation in Citrix environment using Winrunner
I want to automate our printer driver testing in a Citrix environment using Winrunner. The problem that I am facing is Winrunner is identifying everything within the Citrix session as a part of a large bitmap.Infact, staring from the very logging into the server it starts considering it as a large bitmap....The context-sensitive operation is becoming very cumbersome as everything is a win_ command...Initially,obj_ commands were coming but I have got rid of it by mapping the Citrix Window to Window class...But I am not being able to map anyother objects within the session window to any other standard class....Also,I don't want to apply analog statements...
Can you guide me how to proceed in this case...
Re: Test Automation in Citrix environment using Winrunner
With Citrix, you have to install WinRunner on the server, not on your local client you are connecting to the server with.
WinRunner must reside on the same computer as the application you are testing, in this case, the TS. This way it is in the same environmental space as the application for it to hook into the app and understand the objects.
This also means that you will need to connect to the TS via a desktop style connection and not the normal pushed-applicatoin style most apps are presented from a TS.
