    how to identify tabs in a swt_window

    Good day,

    I am using winrunner 8.2 to test Eclipse/SWT based application. There is an oject used to be a tab now is SWT_window. So when I record the action of clicking on different tabs, it's just obj_mouse_click, used to be tab_select_item. See the example below, which I also included spy result.

    OLD:
    ---------------------------
    {displayed: 1,width: 573,x: 207,y: 136,abs_x: 319,class: object,MSW_class: SWT_Window0,abs_y: 136,maximizable: 0,focused: 0,height: 366,active: 0,MSW_id: 4391844,handle: 4391844,minimizable: 0,nchildren: 152,attached_text: "Name:",enabled: 1,TOOLKIT_class: SWT_Window0}

    # launcher
    set_window ("launcher", 1);
    obj_mouse_click ("SWT_Window0_1", 27, 5, LEFT);
    obj_mouse_click ("SWT_Window0_1", 104, 11, LEFT);
    obj_mouse_click ("SWT_Window0_1", 175, 8, LEFT);
    obj_mouse_click ("SWT_Window0_1", 274, 9, LEFT);

    NEW
    ----------------------------
    {displayed: 1,width: 640,x: 253,y: 146,abs_x: 310,class: tab,MSW_class: SysTabControl32,abs_y: 161,maximizable: 0,focused: 0,height: 411,active: 0,count: 8,MSW_id: 591522,handle: 591522,minimizable: 0,value: Main,nchildren: 156,enabled: 1,TOOLKIT_class: SysTabControl32}

    # launcher
    set_window ("launcher", 1);
    tab_select_item ("tab", "Arguments"); # Item Number 1;
    tab_select_item ("tab", "Main"); # Item Number 0;
    tab_select_item ("tab", "Environment"); # Item Number 2;
    tab_select_item ("tab", "Download"); # Item Number 3;

    I don't want positioning recording. How do I solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    James

    Sorry, the code I attached in previous post, OLD and NEW should be reversed.

    Make sure you arnt recording in Analog. If you use GUI_Spy you can also use the spied item's features to write your own code, instead of letting winrunner record code for you.

    Isn't SWT an Adobe thing?

    WinRunner doesn't support Adobe, so getting true context sensitive recording out of the box isn't going to work.

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Nope.. it's not.

    SWT is a GUI toolkit for Java.

    Re: how to identify tabs in a swt_window

    So having Java Add-in installed or having not might be the difference between old and new ...

    James, can you take a look if the add-in is installed properly when recording it on the "new" machine?

    Regards,
    Juergen
