We are encountering a strange problem while using WinRunner.
Our system configuration is:
OS: Windows XP SP 2
WinRunner: WinRunner 7.6
Java Add-in: Java Add-in 7.6
Our web based app contains Java Applets and it requires JRE 1.5 and above.
The problem we are facing is:
The Java Applets are working fine without any problems if WinRunner is not opened. When WinRunner is opened with Java Add-In turned on, the Java applets stops working. It just shows a grey screen from there on.
The Java TM plugin which normally popup whenever the Java Applets opens doesn't popup after WinRunner is opened.
The Java Applet works fine if the WinRunner is not opened and with or without the WinRunner Java Support (Cup) on the systray is enabled/disabled or exited. Please note we are not even recording any actions using WinRunner, it is just opening WinRunner with Java Add-in turned on.
The same problem exist with or without the Java Patch to support JRE v 1.5.
To make the Java Addin work properly again we need to delete the logged in user profile under Documents and Settings (using administrator login). However if you open up WinRunner again then the same problem is repeated.
Strangely we didn't face this problem with Java Applet when we were using WinRunner 7.5, even though it didn't recognize the applet.
This problem started surfacing after we uninstalled WinRunner 7.5 and the Java Add-in 7.5 and installed WinRunner 7.6 and Java Add-in 7.6.
