Is is possible to count the number of rows in a specific colum? I have a table that has multiple columns but each one greatly differs in the number of rows it contains. The problem is I need to quickly find out the number of rows that have text in them. If anyone knows a way to do this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much
tbl_* calls return the information at a specific cell and the total number of rows(being the highest row number found on the table)
Now i realize i could search through each column and count the number of non empty rows in it but that would sort of defeat the idea of what i'm trying to do so i'm looking for a fast way to do it (same speed as tbl_get_rows_count preferrably
If it is a single object, with multiple columns, you are 99.9999% sure going to have to go through the columns and count all the items manually. WinRunner looks at it as a single object and will return the total number of rows, no matter if they are blank or contain information.
Unless you work something out with your developers to allow you a way around it (API call, kidden fields, etc), you are probably stuck doing what you don't want
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
