I've recently been tasked with building a Winrunner test pack against a new java application.
We're using WR8.0 with the Java add-in loaded but for some reason the application is completely invisible to Winrunner - Gui Spy doesn't even see the window object.
I was wondering if you had any ideas regarding detecting this application, as I'm totally stumped.
Re: Invisible Application
Can you start the java application (or any other small java application) from the command line (using java.exe + class name)?
If yes, you could have a look if the Java Add-In is loaded when starting your application - it should write out 2 info lines like that:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Launching Java Add-in for WinRunner
Loading Mercury Interactive Support (version ...) (SUN) for WinRunner</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Did you install the java version (or your java application) AFTER the installation of the Java-AddIn? Maybe the installation did overwrite something the Java-AddIn needed. Try to re-install the Java-AddIn.
