Recently I tried to automate a application which uses AJAX web development. I tried with context sensitive recording but the objects were not the be recognized. When tried with analog it did work. Is there any way I can use context sensitive recording for AJAX? Will the Java add-in help in this regard.
I would assume that since AJAX is nothing more than a conglomeration of a few sandard web based tools it should be recognized through the web add-in in WR if it is being presented to you in that manner.
You didn't mention having the web add-in enabled on WR when trying the context sensitive recording. Was this the case and it wasn't recognized?
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
A co-worker and I were just discussing the issue of WinRunner and AJAX. I did a quick test (pun intended) with WinRunner recording Google Reader and it had no problems recognizing and interacting with objects (I think the main problem with WinRunner and AJAX will be sync issues since you can't rely on web_sync). If you're having a problem with object recognition I don't think AJAX is the problem, however if they're using AJAX they may also be using other trickery that is giving WinRunner a hard time.
