Difficulty with having Winrunner recognize GUI objects in Excel using VBA
I am working with an application written in vba as plug-in to MS Excel, and using winRunner 8.0 with visual basic addins. WinRunner recognizes the login Pop-up but unable to recognize the other properties available such as Username, password, and push buttons available on the Pop-up. The issue is not limited to the loggin page after the login page there exist many panes that contains multiple object that is still having problem recognizing using winRunner. Is there is vba addin patch or can WinRunner support this application. If any one has any experience, pointers on how to resolve is issue please let me know. I did search the mercury knowledge base but no luck few suggestions were posted but did not solve the issue.
Re: Difficulty with having Winrunner recognize GUI objects in Excel using VBA
There is a VB addin that is needed for the application as well as for it to be selected with WinRunner.
This addin is needed for WinRunner to be able to hook into the information in a VB application (like the name of the fields, what is there and how to map to it). I haven't tried this plug in with the VBA side of VB Applications as they aren't compile. You can use the add-ins though with the VBA environment, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.
You can obtain this VB addin for VB on the CD that is shipped when you received WR. It is in the vbdev folder on the root of the CD and will install what you need.
Install that and read the documentation with it and see if it gets you over your hurdle.
