Can any one please guide me to a useful walkthrough for Winrunner, I do not want to download the trial software, I just want a document illustrating a sample walkthrough on how to write testing scripts in winrunner.
well, it is good you aren't wanting to download the trial software due to there not being any.
The best (and only) walk through for WinRunner is in the tutorial that is packaged with the tool. You can only have access to it once you contact Mercury and work out a evaluation of the tool with your company.
If you aren't working in the field now, do you and us a favor and look into the free automation tools that are out on the web (just use google and search for "free software automation"). Hopefully you are also not new to software testing, and have received formal training in the manual and thought aspects of the profession. You can then see how those concepts can be implemented with the automation tool to further the benefit a QA/Automater/Scripter can give a company.
If you haven't received formal training in QA methodologies, you might want to take a step back and learn those concepts and put them into practice for a period of time before jumping into automation. Having someone start their QA career in Automation without the fundamentals is one of the worse things someone can do in this field.
Thank you Tony, I have discovered that my company already have "servers" for QA full of software and certification material, you know ppl prefer pressing "send" on a forum rather than looking up the available resources.
