Jake, I was triggered by the statement above and I think you mean the one can connect with API-calls to the Rumba Emulator?
I'currently connecting to Rumba with API calls, but I get unpredictable results. When I copy the presentationspace(24 * 80) to a string, I don't always get a 1920 chracter string back. Is this a known error?
Willemsen - Without TE, one would use telnet. This method is more susceptible to breakage if not handled properly in TSL. The pitfalls may be field widths (varying data lenghts in those fields) and variable telnet session name in the window title bar. These can be overcome.
Your "known error question" - not sure. Why do you need to copy the entire space? Parsing?
Tony - I have no clue what the poll was all about???
jan_ansen wanted to ask a question, a poll has something to do with a question, so he clicked on "new poll" instead of "new topic" ...
Maybe AJ could implement some type of security question (or a clear description what's a poll about within the "new poll"-form) to avoid this... (although it occurs quite rarely, so it won't be worth the effort).
On the other side - since he hasn't got a XBox360 I guess he could have some time left for implementing this...
I can't use telnet coz we now connect through SSH.. I need to copy the presentation space so I can search it. I can also use the API search of Rumba, but that's significantly slower then searching the copied presentation space. If I use an API tester to connect to Rumba 7.2, it works fine, but with Winrunner 8.0 it seems to be unpredictable and slower.
On my search to the answer I came accross the text below. It shows that VT100 with TE is very limited.
"The Unix display does not use the ehlapi32.dll file. This means that WinRunner will only be able to work with this in VT100 mode. Please note that VT100 mode does not provide the functionality of the TE_* functions and is much more limited than the recognition you get when working with AS400. Instructions to set up the emulator in VT100 mode are attached"
