I am running winrunner as scheduled task. But i locked my machine during winrunner execution. It opening the browser. It setting my user id and password in the html browser. It clicking the button. The button press event returns 0. Only problem is its stay in the same window. Its not actually login into application. Its doenst go to the next window. But the same script works fine when i used in java applet.
I don't understand, this. How come winrunner setting user id and password in the field. That means it accessing the keyboard. Is it something we can able to get around it? Any software other than winrunner? Thanks and greatly appreciated your answers
I don't know of any test application that can do functional testing and run from a locked system. They all have the same requirements - access to the console to run their scripts.
The entry into the boxes you see may be due to the API calls WR uses to interface with them, or the information in the fields may be prefilled, but you aren't going to be able to get around running WR on a locked system with the tool itself.
The only way I can think of to get around it is to develop a VBScript that is run prior to wanting to launch the WR scripting that edits the registry to include the autologon information, then reboots the system. This will launch and log into the system automatically and give you access to the console for the next scheduled task.
After the tests is compelte, then you can have the last test run an additional VBScript to remove the autologon information from the registry and follow it with a reboot/log off.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
