I have winrunner 7.01 with me.I want to install the patch for IE6.0.But I don't have the installation Cd to do custom installation. Is there any other way for installing the patch with out using the installation cd?
Thanks in advance
Thank you for ur reply.I have patch with me.What is the procedure for installing the patch? As for as I know, Winrunner Installation CD is required to install the patch. But unfortunately I don't have the installation cd with me.How can I install the patch without installation CD?
It's not a self-installer. The instructions are spelled out explicitly on Mercury's Support site. And no, the installation CD is not required...that is, unless you haven't installed the software in the first place.
Thank you for your reply. The patch which I have is a zipped folder and I unzipped it.Unzipped folder has "info.ini" and "web.z" files.
The procedure for installing the patch which I found in Mercury site is as follows
Installation instructions ie6 Supprot for WR 7.01
1. Unzip the file to a temp directory.
2. Run the installation of WinRunner.
3. Choose custom and select only WebTest.
4. In the "Update Components" dialog choose "Use local update folder" and specify the temp folder which you have unzipped the files.
5. Continue with the installation.
I could not find any other procedure for installing the patch without the CD.
You "do" need to run the installer for this. The CD has an update.exe for this purpose.
Your company must be having the CD shipped by mercury(or request them).....and if you do then this should not be a problem in any ways.....In any other scenario you should not be using that license nor making such posts.....
