WinRunner has just been re-installed WinRunner (due to a change of Windows NT->XP Platform).
Now I can not find, or show, an object within a window (in the GUI Map Editor). It just flashes the containing window. It does, however, learn EVERYTHING. Please can you tell me what option/setting I need to change.
We are in the middle of testing so it's a bit of a blow.
When they upgraded to the new OS platform, sis they install from scratch or perform an Upgrade install?
If an upgrade install was completed, you may want to go out and visit the Mercury KB and search for how to completely (manually) remove all references of WinRunner from your system and then re-install.
We have run into many a problem with just upgrading WR on a system where it is originally installed in a lesser version. We find issues where objects are unreliably or not detected at all
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
Like Peter stated, you probably want to talk to Mercury on this issue. That having been said, you haven't identified what version of WinRunner you are using. If you are using a version that pre-dates 7.5 (or is it 7.6? I never can remember), you may need to patch your WinRunner installation in order to have WinRunner run effectively.
