why compare value from data table with that on screen
For a module I am working on, I have a scripts which calculates sum of values of a field(taking teh values from data table)...and compares that result with the value displayed on screen for the same field.
I am confused as to why they are doing so...Arent the value displayed on screen fetched from teh data table usually? If so..the both teh values shud be automatically eaqual , so there shud be no need of comparision
I am a fresher in thsi field ...pls help me through
Re: why compare value from data table with that on screen
A question for you....
What if there is a defect in the logic that calculates or displays the value (or both) you are looking for? What if the value by coincidence is correct, but coming from the wrong place in the database? What if your script-based calculations are incorrect?
You say "automatically". Think about what is behind "automatically". Software to provide the "automatic" nature - correct? All software has defects. It sounds like it might be your job to show both where the logic (that software) works and where it is flawed.
If you can answer the previous questions, then you can answer your own question.
