What is the proper usage of edit_check_info's property value - Displayed, Active and Enabled. On what circumstances would they be best used. Currently, am always using Enabled. Thanks
Active you can use to see if the edit box is active or not. Like, you might have to click on something that would make edit box active. Once you click that something, you might want to check, if edit box is now active. So you use.. edit_check_info(Name, active, value)
Displayed on the same concept is like: do something & edit box will popup. So you want to check, if that edit box is displayed.
Hope you are looking for this solution, else provide more info.
Note that if you are checking the enabled value on a web page then edit_check_info will not work--my experience has been that the "*_check_info" or "*_get_info" functions always return TRUE for the enabled status of web form controls, whether it is disabled (greyed out) or not.
A quick check to see if a control is enabled (editable) or not is to get its handle. A negative value for the object's handle property will always mean the object is disabled.
obj_get_info ("MyEditField" , "handle" , hObj);
if (hObj < 0)
# the object is disabled.
# the object is editable.
