    difference between java based and other web applications

    HI Friends,

    Can somebody pls advice, what are the basic diferences when we work on a java based application or .net application(or others campared with java).What things we need to keep in mind and how do we go about the testing process with these two. Basically waht are the differences when we perform functional testing on these using winrunner ?
    Pls help me as i am still a newbee in this field

    I think winrunner doesnt supports .net for testing

    Winrunner1, the difference will be that if you have the Java plug in for Winrunner you will be able to test Java apps, functionality with this tool.
    Regardless of having the Java Plug in, you will not be able to test .net applications with this tool as they are not supported. For further information on which of the Mercury Products operate in which software environments you can find information on Mercury's website:

    I Heard some where that if a .NET Application does not use .NET objetcs then WR can be used for those also. Well i am not very well versed with development language, but is it true?
    does that mean normal HTML objects are used at front end but behind the scenes which people call Business Layer the application would be using .NET for logic implementation.
