How do you change the value of the coded string that the pointer is pointing to in this function? For example, when a password has changed.
1) Parameterize a list of encoded passwords and use those.
2) Don't encode the password.
If the case is that your password has changed and you wish to adjust in your script - just use te_type(); with the unencoded password.
Could you elaborate a bit more about how to do possibility 1?
You would have to record the entering of all the passwords to get the encoded password. Then put the encoded passwords in the data table.
The coded strings are most likely stored in one of the files within the test's db or exp folder.
If you did figure out how to change the coded string, and put this logic in your test script, wouldn't this defeat the purpose - keeping the test executor unaware of the passwords ? You may as well put the unencoded passwords in the data table and use te_type as JP suggested.
