I've recently joined a product-based company and I was asked to execute previously coded scripts(using WinRunner) on the newer version of the product. Iím facing a lot of GUI problems and some regarding the functionality. Since the workload is heavy, please suggest some handy tips for faster execution and fast scripting of new functionalities so that I can do much productive work on shorter time.

design what you want to do before you start scripting - it speeds things up to know what you want to do before you start.
Look at the scripts you plan - sometimes it is quicker to develop and maintain multiple simple scripts instead of a single complex script. This may also speed up execution and there is less code to execute.
