Can a write an UDF or is there any provision in winrunner to retreive the occurence of a particular word in a string ?
Let me know if its possible .
UDF = ???
Anyway, as far as finding a word in a string, take a look at the index() and match() functions.

[i]...Sound trumpets! Every trumpet in the host! / Sixty thousand, on these words, sound, so high the mountains sound, and the valleys resound.</i] (The Song of Roland)
Use the split() function. If it is successful, then you know that the token you seek is present in the string.
Unconventional? Yep. Works? Yep.

UDF = User Defined Function
rs = "This is sample text";
res = index(rs,"sample");
this returns the no from where the text starts.
