This may sound little out of place but u really got stuck on this one.
Could anybody of you please explain me the category in which the WinRunner falls.
Is WinRunner an automation tool completely used for Black Box Testing why isn't it can be used for white box testing as it is based on record/playbock technology.
I may be sounding little obnoxious but this is really important for me.
I hope somebody can come up with an answer and clear my doubts.

WinRunner is a tool that interacts with the GUI of an application so if your test cases (derived from "Black Box" and or "White Box" test design techniques) have a suitable graphical interface then you can use WinRunner to automate the tests.
