I need to add code for exception handling in my scripts. But as is given in the manuals for handling any unexpected window that pops up while running the test i need to have that window learned in GUI map file.
But if i am not aware of the type of the windows that will pop up while executing the scripts then how do i add them to the GUI Map before executing the scripts?
Is there some way by which i can trap any unexpected window that comes up while executng the test runs(such as run time error).and store them in some file.?????
As far as my learning says this is not possible. Rather the basic concept of WinRunner rely on GUI file only, what ever is there in GUI is known by winRunner else its by passed/ignored.
Only way to do this is
1. keep executing your scripts
2. when ever you find a new window get it learned
3. modify your script accordingly
4. again execute it.
5. you will find after few executions you have covered almost all such windows.
There's a solution for every problem, it depends how quick you want it
