I have a tab control with 5 tab items, i get a 6th tab item when clicked on a command button.
I wanted to check if that tab item is created, when clicked on the command button.
I have used the return value of tab_select_item function to check if that item exists. Is this the only method, or do we have any other methods.
Please give your inputs.
check with Obj_Exists() function. If the return value is true then you can do your own manipulations

I was discussing about the tab item and not the tab control.
How can winrunner identify a tab item as on object ?.
Could you please explain me the correct procedure or exact syntax of what you said ?
You only have the tab_...-commands available.
You can use tab_get_info("tabObj", "count", nrTabs) to get the number of tabs.
And then use
tab_get_item("tabObj", nrTabs-1, lastTabName);
to get the name of the last tab item.
Check WR TSL Online Reference and type 'tab_' at research to try tab_ functions (actually there is some codes for "tab_count"). Good Luck.
