I have recorded a script which creates a course for the book.
In it i have to define the starting Date(startDate,startMonth,startYear) and the Ending Date(endDate,endMonth,endYear).
After recording the script, i could see only the statements:
I have to parameterize all the 6 items.
even i manually enhance the script and parameterize, while running the script the error is coming as "This operation is not applicable for the widget object"
So kindly understand the problem and give me some suggestion.
It sounds like when you're recording, you're not picking up the month selection. Is this correct?
Sometimes, if a combobox will allow you to either select a value or to enter text directly, it does an edit check to limit the text that has been entered to an existing list value. I've run into cases where such an edit check wiped out the value I had entered or selected (even if it were valid).
To get around this, I've sometimes been able to do the following:
1. Use <kTab> to move from the previous field to the desired entry field.
2. type ("endMonth", "05<kTab>");
For whatever reason, the application 'liked' this method better and allowed the edit check to pass.
Hope this helps.
Sorry, those steps should have read as follows:
1. Tab to move from the previous entry field to the desired entry field. (Might not be necessary.)
2. enter: type ("endMonth", "05<kTab>");
use data driven wizard. with this data table is created enter different values in it.
