I'm trying to read sent SMTP information.
Anyone used WR to do this?
Is there a direct way for WR to listen to SMTP?
I've seen an emulator called Putty mentioned in other postings - can this watch events being sent without having to send them itself?
Anyone know how to create a log file of SMTP activity (I don't have OutLook installed)? I need to be able to read the DATA content.
If I can produce a file I can use WR to search the text and perform validations... well that's the plan.
1. Use something like ethereal (http://www.ethereal.com) to listen on the SMTP port number.
2. Use the resulting trace to assemble a log.
3. Use WinRunner to parse the log

Snap - my current solution uses a third party tool to create a log file... and then I parse the log. Ideally I was looking for a solution without a third party tool.
Anymore ideas out there?
