I have found the objects dynamically with the help of some unique properties . (The object is textfield type).
I have inserted a statement as
where obj is the object I have found dynamically , ans is the text I am going to type.It runs successfully .
Today I tried to run it again, it is not typing the answers.
Could any onehelp me where is my mistake. ?
1. I just checked whether it is detecting the textfield object or not, by inserting the mouse click statements in the objects. It is clicking but the answers are not typed.
Some basic troubleshooting:
1) Make sure the variable ans contains some text:
2) Make sure the object (obj) is being identified correctly:
3) Check the return value of the function:
rc = obj_key_type(obj,ans);
An additional comment to the above,
Make sure the ans variable doesn't contains any of the following char's
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">-,+,< & ></pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Regards
Thank you Bpolitzer
1.Yes. The ans contains text.
2.Its highlighting and also clicking the object, as I told to do so.
3. In the statement obj_key_type() it is showing the error dialog as undefined function obj_key_type(obj,ans)..
I don't know why it is coming. The same script ran successfully in previous trials.
Thank you Aries :
Yes, The ans does 'nt contain any special character . I checked it with pause(ans) statement.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">obj_key_type is only available with Java add-in and only applicable for Java applications (as it sends KeyEvents to a Java component).

Could this be the reason...?
(you wrote that it was working before - that's what irritates me - have you tried it on the same system in the same application with the same WR install?)
Thank You Bru.
From your answer, I thought that there will be some problem in Java addin. I reinstalled it. Now it works fine.
Thank you Bru, Aries and Bpolitzer .
