    Re: automateing undo/redo operation

I once had to test an editor with undo/redo functionality.

    My steps were (simplified):
    - Restart the AUT (to ensure the undo buffer is empty)
    - Do some operations
    - Undo them
    - Redo them

The special things to test were:
    - Undo/Redo when the undo/redo buffer is empty
    - Fill up the undo buffer (you need to know how many actions can be made undone)
    - Undo drag & drop actions (is drag&drop stored as one undo action or as two actions)
    - ...

There can be much more things to be tested, it depends on your application (as Peter asked). E.g. testing actions that may not be made undone - like storing a file or database operations...

    Hope that helps...

It sounds like you already know what to do. Do you have some specific problem with automating the steps you listed above?

Have you tried recording with WR and seeing what you get?
