Testing H elp dialogs
My application uses what I thought was a standard Windows help dialog, which basically brings up the list of documents on the left (along with search functions) and displayes the help text on the right.
The help text is all written in HTML, so links can be followed within the help text in preference to using the left hand document list.
However, I can't seem to find any way to read the text and check the links with WR. HTML functions don't seem to work unless HTML is in a browser, and using GUI spy etc. the HTML is not recognised and it is impossible to navigate or read the text.
Using Context Sensitive recording just results in x,y co-ord clicks that don't work on playback.
Has anyone come across this before and knows how to deal with it? I've been assured by the developers this is a standard Help dialog! Thanks!

If your help screens are being displayed in browser type windows, you may need to add a line to your wrun.ini file in the "ie_hooks" section so that WinRunner recognizes that window as being a web browser window.
