How to download data from the MainFrame..
Could someone plz guide me through some kind of script.
There are too many "it depends" things for me to even try to answer this. Is it in a database? Is it in a file that you can FTP? Do they run something like Samba on the mainframe that would allow you to map it as a network drive on the Winrunner PC? Etc....
Basically, how would you access it manually? Based on that, then the question can become how to accomplish that task via WinRunner.
[i]...Sound trumpets! Every trumpet in the host! / Sixty thousand, on these words, sound, so high the mountains sound, and the valleys resound.</i] (The Song of Roland)
Actually this is typically a different type of application.
The data that is dynamically updated populated in the application is not from the database or mainframes but the computational logic resides in the objects itself and after calculation data is displayed in applicaiton.Under such circumstances how should i take the data to validate.
Is there any way to do that..
If you can operate the application with WinRunner, then you should be able to "view" (get) the calculated data with WinRunner if it is displayed in the app.
