Re: DB2

Hi,

I am using db_connect() method..but it is giving
-10161 error..which is not listed in the return values.
rc=db_connect("test","Server= DB2, Database=DBname, Username=webuser, PWD= rs1net");
Is the input right..
Please suggest.

Re: DB2

The error is, in fact, listed in the WR online help ----
E_CONNECTION_FAILED -10161 The connection to the database failed.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">But I'm not a DB2 user, so I can't troubleshoot your connect string, I'm afraid.

Re: DB2

Do you have an ODBC connection setup via the Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Data sources?

Do you have the drivers installed?

Re: DB2

Lee,

Just a guess about your connection string:
"rc=db_connect("test","Server= DB2, Database=DBname, Username=webuser, PWD= rs1net");
"

I think you need semi-colons instead of commas between your connect string parameters. You may also want to include a "db_get_last_error();" call immediately after your attempt to connect - to capture the error the dbserver is returning.

Nexus,

Please do not piggyback others posts with questions of your own. Please use the advanced search facility to look for "db_" in the WinRunner forum. Between the search results and the TSL Online help - you will have more information than you need to connect. Okay?
