storing in variables
I have an application in which the user has to enter many values.....I created many input boxes in many places. Is there anyway in which the user enters all the values in a single place and we can store those values in variables and use it for later use???
for eg: the user has to enter the userid, category number, DBID etc. Is it possible to allow the user to write all the values at one place and store each value in each variable so that we can use them whenever appropriate.
Thanks for any help
Re: storing in variables
You could begin by making your script data-driven. Put all the values in any of the following:
database, excel spreadsheet, or flat file.
Then use the appropriate TSL functions to read the data you need at the proper time - to input to the correct object in the application-under-test.
If I understand your question correctly, you are using WinRunner to prompt you with dialog boxes anytime you need to input to the application-under-test. Using WinRunner-based dialog boxes defeats the general purpose of the tool - to replace a human!
