I need Terminal Emulator Add-In to work with Telnet Window thru Winrunner, Right now I am conducting R&D on this as I am planning for a emulator based testing. Can somebody help me in downloading "Terminal Emulator Add-In". I use Winrunner 7.01.
Or is there an alternative.... I use Telnet to connect to the remote server (Sun, Win2k, AIX) and run batches. Looking to automate this test process thru Winrunner.
if you are only running batchs then you cn probably get away without using it. A dirty way to do it but use
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">invoke_application("telnet.exe&qu ot;, "zeta", "C:\\WINNT\\system23\\", SW_SHOW); </pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">to open your telnet session and the use win types to enter log on details and run batchs. If you print something from the batch file like THIS HAS FINISHED RUN THE NEXT ONE
then you can have a loop in your script that checks for that on the screen and when you find it run the next batch.
Is this add-in really useful?
I mean, we use an emulator (EMUL Tun) and we work with Telnet.
But we develop some functions with get_text,..., and don't really think TE Add-in is useful?
Can you explain me its interest?
I still do not know how use will TE be but with present Winrunner Setup I coyuld use PuTTy instead of Telnet directly. This had worked well. So Wat I have planned is to trigger shell scripts and actual validation is done on server side using Perl
