Is WinRunner Script OS/Browser/Product Version Dependent ?
At present we are planning to opt Automated Testing for our Course Authoring tool. This product needs testing for various combinations of Operating Systems and Browsers. For Operating Systems (currently Win 98 / NT / 2000 / XP / ME) , for browsers ( currently IE 5.0 and above & Netscape 6 and above ). Also we have different versions of the products.
In context to this, I would like to seek your help to know whether Winrunner script are Operating System / Browser / Product Version dependent.
At present, I have started working on WinRunner 6.02. I had noticed Product version dependency. But I failed to get reliable and satisfying answers to the above questions.
I am apprehensively seeking help on this.
Thanks in advance
Re: Is WinRunner Script OS/Browser/Product Version Dependent ?
First a question for you...
Why are you using 6.02?
WinRunner is independent of WIN platform to an extent and will work with different verions of different browsers. The plaform requirements for WinRunner are well-stated in the accompanying documentation. Additionally, a readme.wri file is included. That can be found in a sub-directory of where WinRunner is installed - ..\WinRunner\dat. This provides more detail and will give you reliable answers.
