Can I explictly fail a testcase?
Can I explicitly fail a testcase?
Actual Problem is:
I need to compare version of an application and when I am getting actual version using obj_get_text function then apart from version number I get some more text, So I am extracting only version number using built in split function. Then I am comparing actual version number with the expected version number. Output of this comparison will decide whether test case is pass or fail. In case of failure I wants to show it in red color so that in case of batch run I can easily get weather testcase is pass or fail.
Code is given below...can u tell me appropriate function to replace If statement
ExpectedVersion = 5.5
split(ActualVersion, temp," ");
ActualVersion = temp;
report_msg ("The Actual Version is " & ActualVersion);
if (ActualVersion != ExpectedVersion)
Testcase is fail
Re: Can I explictly fail a testcase?
tl_step ( step_name, status, description );
In the status, if you specify any value other than 0, it will make the test as fail.
